Meet the Composer

*3/29/08 WORLD PREMIERE PERFORMANCE Mr. Sivan will perform the world-premiere of his new song cycle (commissioned by the Canandaigua Lake Chamber Music Festival), together with the mezzo-soprano Laurie Rubin. Also on the program, Mr. Sivan will create an original improvisation at the concert, based on themes suggested by the audience, as a means to introduce the audience to Mr. Sivan's background in improvisation and to advertise the more extensive improvisation/composition workshops that he will present in August 2008. Mr. Sivan will also collaborate with Ms. Rubin in music by Schubert, Brahms, and others. *8/27/08 CLASSICAL BLUE JEANS Mr. Sivan will be the featured musician on the festival's annual Classical Blue Jeans special event -- an innovative program designed especially for audiences who are new to classical music.
