Oakland Opera An American Faust will be a contemporary interpretation of the Faust legend using music, puppetry and stage design to create an eclectic theatrical event. Designer Claire Mack will conceptualize and create a multiple roomed staging area which the audience will move within, thereby traveling with Faust on his journey through damnation and ultimately redemption. Composers Boots and Frykdahl will use local rock artists as multi-instrumentalists and The Apocalypse Puppet Theater will be creating marionettes and large movable set pieces.
