Meet the Composer

The History of Gadgetry brings together trumpeter and composer Dave Douglas and filmmaker Bill Morrison on a project about the history of gadgetry; specifically, the artists are interested in exploring how technology and invention have influenced society in unexpected ways, often beginning as fanciful creation, but ultimately revolutionizing the way we understand the world. Instrumentation will include trumpet, saxophone, electric keyboards, turntables, laptop, bass and drums. Filmmaker Morrison’s work often combines new, archival, and distressed footage.
