Meet the Composer

Johnny Chang's work will be performed in several events during the course of ARTSaha! 2008, Omaha's new music festival. As part of his appearance at ARTSaha! 2008, Johnny (violin) wwill perform with his chamber music duo, The Microscores Project. Alongside Johnny's original work, the Microscores Project performs miniatures by James Tenney, Pauline Oliveros and Harold Budd that have all been written especially for them. In addition to performing during ARTSaha! 2008, Johnny will also give for master class with University of Nebraska students. The festival is presented in partnership with the University of Nebraska, including all of its various campuses, and all student composers would be invited to attend a special master class with Johnny. In addition to the master class, Johnny will host a composition workshop with his Microscores Project partner where they will work with student composers on creating 30 second miniature compositions.
