Baltimore Choral Arts' full orchestra and chorus performed a public subscription concert, "Stormy Weather" which began with the East Coast Premiere of Tina Davidson's "intellectually rigorous and deeply moving" (Minneapolis Star Tribune) composition "Hymn of the Universe." After an intermission the concert concluded with choral selections by Haydn. Immediately following the concert, Tom Hall and composer Tina Davidson had a Choral Conversation with the audience and performers. Tina Davidson held a master class for students participating in the Baltimore Choral Arts Student Composer Project. Invitations to participate were mailed to the music departments of nearly 150 high schools and private schools in Maryland. Student participants composed a choral work not to exceed five minutes. At the master class, our full chorus rehearsed and recorded the compositions for each participant as well as received feedback from Tina Davidson.
