Meet the Composer

Evan Ziporyn

Evan Ziporyn will compose a multi-movement work for table and chamber orchestra, written for tabla virtuoso Sandeep Das and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. Like a traditional concerto, the work will involve a dialogue between the soloist and orchestra, taking advantage of Das’s astonishing mastery of both rhythm and instrumental color, and drawing on his fluency in classical Hindustani forms. The music language will be Ziporyn’s.
