Robert Paterson in residence with the Vermont Youth Orchestra
Rob Paterson's three-year residency with the Vermont Youth Orchestra will engage not only the young musicians that make up the ensemble but also large segments of the community of Colchester, Vermont, where the orchestra is based. The VYO in association with numerous other organizations in the community will sponsor a variety of performance and educational events throughout the three seasons of the residency.
Each year of Paterson's residency will begin with his participation in the VYO's Reveille! Music Festival, a week-long residential camp during which the students and twenty music faculty members gather for an intense week of making music and building new relationships. From there Paterson will participate in a range of events such as public school visits, on-line mentoring through the Vermont MIDI Project, college master classes and radio interviews on Vermont Public Radio.
