Composer David Felder will be a Master Artist-in-Residence at Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA), February 15 – March 7, 2010 to work with 8 talented, emerging and mid-career composers.
A core component of the residencies is the Outreach Program. Each Master Artist must provide one public outreach event at a cultural or educational institution in Florida (promoted to the general public) or at Atlantic Center for the Arts’ Joan James Harris Theater (an INreach which invites the public into the residency). Felder will conduct a free, public event at Stetson University on February 23, 2010. Promoted to the general public, as well as students and faculty, Felder's public event will include a performance, and brief lecture, with Q&A following the performance. Secondly, on February 25, 2010, Felder will be a guest of honor at an ACA salon, a program for members in Winter Park and Orlando, 60 miles from New Smyrna Beach. Thirdly, the public will be invited to the culminating event of the residency on March 5, 2010, INsideOUT, which presents works-in-process by the Master Artists-in-Residence, including Felder, as well as the work of the emerging/midcareer composers working with Felder.
