The second concert of Third Coast Percussion's 2010-11 Chicago Concert Season featured the premiere of David T. Little's Haunt of Last Nightfall, for percussion quartet and electronics, commissioned by Third Coast. At an open rehearsal and Q&A session with David Little and the performers the day before the concert, as well as a post-concert panel discussion and social hour at the venue, Little discussed the concept behind the piece, the relationship between music and politics, both in this piece and in the larger scope of his work, the role of the electronic elements of the piece and their relationship to the live performers, and his love for, and influence from, heavy metal music.
