Music Alive: New Partnerships

Funded residencies for composers and orchestras

New Partnerships is an initiative to bring about new relationships between composers and orchestras. Fully funded one-week residencies involving community engagement with the composer and performance of the composer's work are in the offering to orchestras and other performing/presenting organizations.

The nine composers shown here, and in more detail on the following gallery pages, have been selected by an independent review panel based upon the merit of their proposed piece and the residency ideas each submitted in application to the program. We invite you to explore these pages and become acquainted with the composers and their work. More program details:

• Support is for funding of all composer fees (participation fees, travel, lodging and per diem, etc.) and an administrative stipend for the organization.
• Orchestras/organizations which have already programmed a work by the composer are not eligible to engage that composer through this program.
• Residency activity may occur between fall 2009 and spring 2012.
