Meet the Composer

Giant will be a musical theater piece with music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa and book by Sybille Pearson, based on the novel by Edna Ferber. Giant is the powerful story of a Texas rancher and his Virginia-born wife as they face increasing challenges in their marriage and family in an ever-changing American landscape. Pearson and LaChiusa will make a show about the human condition--underscoring sacrifice--and how time takes a physical and emotional toll on familial relationships. This musical will be for 17 actors and a 21-piece orchestra.
