Nico Muhly

Nico Muhly’s Tell The Way will be an 18-20 minute work inspired by the Travels of Sir John Mandeville, a 14th century fantastical narrative of global travel. The piece will use the string quartet as an obbligato instrument- a sort of fanciful, make-believe texture that follows the choir on its journey east. The work will premiere at least four times and premiered at an April 2010 Nico Muhly and Friends concert at Symphony Space’s Peter Jay Sharp Theater planned to feature the Brooklyn Youth Chorus and the Brooklyn-based band Grizzly Bear.
