The Greenville Symphony Presents Mark Kilstofte

Mark Kilstofte's composition, Ballistic Etude 3.1, a sextet for winds, strings and percussion, will be performed in the Greenville Symphony Orchestra's Spotlight Series. The music of Ballistic Etude 3.1 is cast in the form and style of the Italian caccia (or French chace), 14th century genres commonly associated with the hunt. It is dedicated to the memory of composer William Albright, a gifted, orphic figure tragically overtaken by his own demons.
Introduced in 2006, the Spotlight Series is a small ensemble chamber orchestra series presented in a relaxed and informal one-hour, no intermission format. Held at Centre Stage Theatre, concerts are designed as an educational, interactive introduction to orchestral and symphonic music.
