Meet the Composer

The New Music Collective (NMC) will present a series of three concerts featuring the music of renowned Los Angeles-based composer and educator, Michael Pisaro. The project, Michael Pisaro: 2000 - 2010 is scheduled to occur on three successive days in three different locations in South Carolina: September 19 in Charleston, September 20 in Columbia and September 21 at the Rensing Center in Pickens. Featured works include ricefall (2) (2007), which consists of 64 pre-recorded tracks of rice falling on a plethora of materials; Exchange (2000); harmony series (2004 - 2006), The Collection (2000); a new work commissioned and premiered by the NMC.
