The New Music Collective will present a concert of new works performed the NYC-based NOW Ensemble, a composer/performer collective that has quickly established itself as one of the most prominent and promising sounds in 21st century chamber music. The concert will take place in Charleston, SC as part of the NMC's 2010-11 concert season, and will feature the work of Judd Greenstein (Change), Missy Mazzoli (excerpts from Song From the Uproar), Patrick Burke (Awake), and Mark Dancigers (Burst), all of whom will be in attendance at the performance. With the unique instrumentation of flute, clarinet, electric guitar, double bass, and piano, NOW Ensemble has been called a "deft young group" by New Yorker critic Alex Ross, and has built a strong reputation as one of the leading ensembles dedicated to new music in New York City and beyond.
