Meet the Composer
Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music presents Mason Bates, John Corigliano, Michael Daugherty and others
The Cabrillo Festival will present performance of works by eight composers throughout its concert series August 3 through August 12. All composers will participate in a pre-concert introduction/discussion with Marin Alsop and be available for radio and press interviews. They will also participate in open rehearsals. In addition, Higdon, Daugherty, Kellogg, and Corigliano will join Alsop for a Meet the Composers panel discussion on August 4. Daugherty will serve as faculty for the 2007 Composers Training Workshop. Higdon and Corigliano will participate as guest lecturers in the Composers Training Workshop. Daugherty, Bates, and Puts will join composers Mark O'Connor and David Heath in a special event called BEHIND THE NOTES, focusing on composers who also perform.
