Meet the Composer

For the appearance of composer Gabriela Lena Frank during the premiere of her work on May 30, 2008 at the San Francisco de Young Museum. Ms. Frank will compose a song cycle for Naumburg Award Winning soprano Lucy Shelton and members of the ADORNO Ensemble. The songs will be settings of selected poetry of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. The work is commissioned for voice, violin, clarinet, piano, cello, and percussion. In addition to Ms. Franks 25-minute work, the group will also perform works by Mexican composers Ana Lara and Carlos Sanchez Gutierrez. The performances will be recorded live as part of ADORNO's Gallery Sessions Radio Show (see below).
